Tuesday evening Drawing Club at The Old Parkstone Dairy, 111 Parkstone Road, Ashley Cross Poole.

£20.00

DRAWING CLUB with Lisa Berkshire

I have decided to start up a ‘Drawing Club’ where I will be offering two-hour sessions for all sorts of drawing-centric workshops, exercises and associated drawing based projects.

WHERE

I’m holding my first range of dates in a purpose made workshop unit in ‘The Old Parkstone Dairy’ in the Ashley Cross area of Poole. It will be a two-hour session roughly every other week (though it may differ slightly to fit round bank holidays etc). A kind of deal where you can sign up for one at a time or book a few in advance.

TIMES AND DATES

Tuesday evenings 7-9pm

April 1st, 15th and 29th

May 6th and 13th (further dates will be released later)

PRICE

Each two hour session will be £20 including all materials, tea/coffee and other light refreshments.

HOW TO BOOK

You can book here by adding any dates you would like to attend to the cart. You can pay for one at a time or pre-book a selection in advance.

Each session of for 8 people, so if it doesn’t say ‘sold out’ there are still spaces for those dates.

WHAT WE WILL BE DOING

The drawing club will be all about drawing, incorporating paper engineering and art and the application of mixed media techniques if needed for some projects.

Primarily it will be a relaxing space to make drawing a regular and uplifting exercise. We will draw from life, just for fun, for mental relaxation, to tell your own stories, illustrate memories and things from imagination (don’t worry, it’ll be fun) and to record the beautiful world around us.

Above all, it will be a couple of hours spent in positive action, with an acceptance of all levels of ability and reasons for coming; whether for first timers, or practicing artists who just want to get into the swing of drawing in a group or to add drawing to their practice - and everything in between!

I have a lot of ideas to start off with, but also will be sorting the content as we go, to reflect the needs of the participants. I will post the content of each session as soon as I can. Usually just after the last one (ie. two weeks in advance) as I love to react to what we have been doing in and tailor sessions so we are all doing things we want to and enjoy.

The first session will be a real warm up of drawing from life and discussions while we draw of what participants want to get out of the sessions. I love sharing my enthusiasm for drawing and art in general with people and to help with personal development and confidence in those area. Each new participant will receive a special A5 sketchbook and some drawing prompt materials when they first join.

PARKING

There is a paying public car park opposite The Dairy and Pelican Crossing just along the way. You can try for local area to park for free in the evening but no guarantee of spaces.
